The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce is hiring deckhands for the 2010 Capital City Queen season. This is a great job for anyone who loves to have fun, work with people and promote the Pierre area. Perfect opportunity for anyone looking to work flexible hours during the summer.
The deckhand creates a safe, customer service oriented experience for passengers on board the 46 passenger tour boat during daily cruises and charters. Duties include: assisting the captain with departure and arrival, docking, greeting and onboard interaction with passengers, taking tickets, counting passengers and providing for the general safety and comfort of those riding the Capital City Queen.
Requirements include physical ability to perform docking procedures, a positive attitude and ability to understand and communicate safety procedures. First Aid/CPR certification is a plus. Successful applicant(s) must be willing to submit to random drug testing.
The deckhand will work flexible hours throughout the season. Approximate hours are 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Sundays from May through September with additional hours scheduled on an as-needed basis for charters. Hourly wages DOE.
