Julie M. Johnson
is an attorney, who has had an interesting career path.  From Aberdeen originally, she practiced law there until joining Governor Bill Janklow's Cabinet as Secretary of Labor, from 1983-1987.  She returned to the private sector from 1987 to 1995, as President of the Industry and Commerce Association of South Dakota, "The Voice of South Dakota Business".  In 1995, she answered the call again to rejoin Governor Janklow's Cabinet as Secretary of Revenue, and later moved over as Executive Director, South Dakota Rural Development Council.  Currently, she is an Administrative Law Judge for the State of South Dakota.  She has lobbied the SD Legislature for 25 years, done coalition politics, collaboration, partnerships, grassroots politics, ballot issue campaigns, economic development, leadership development, board training, and many other invaluable experiences.  She's been called upon to lead on numerous occasions, and to follow on many others.  She graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1974 with a BA in Government and Communications, and then obtained her Masters in Political Science, 1977, and her Juris Doctor in Law in 1977.  Her class, "Topics: Leadership", is also known as "Leadership Central South Dakota".
