Monitored Make-up Testing Policies at Capital University Center
We encourage students to take tests and instructors to give tests during class times; however, we understand that some exceptions will occur. Tests are monitored so fair and impartial exam settings are maintained.
1. Make-up tests are given on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. (Faculty must work out exceptions with our CUC staff.) Please call ahead with 24 hour notice of the time you will be arriving to take your test. Please allow enough time to complete your test by 5 pm. (for example if you are allowed 3 hours to complete a test you should arrive to take your test by 2 pm). Testing after 5 pm is available only with prior arrangements under excruciating circumstances. Students should not expect staff to stay later without prior arrangements. 2. Testing is in the DDN (Dakota Digital Network) Room at the CUC offices. Monitoring will be done in person or by TV. 3. All books, papers, notes, jackets, and bags of any kind will be left in the CUC reception room or TV area unless the faculty member gives directions for an open book or open notes test. 4. Once the individual begins the test, he/she must not leave the testing room. When the student completes the test, he/she may hand in the test to the CUC proctor. Bathroom or food breaks must be done before or after the test. 5. Every effort should be made by students to take tests with the instructor at the regular classroom time. Make-up tests are given only when a serious problem prevents the student from doing so in class and the teacher gives permission to the student. Make-up testing should not be considered as a second alternative date to test. 6. Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in significant consequences when observed by other classmates or monitors.
