Clayton "Pete" Obermeier earned his Master of Arts in Speech Communication in 1992. He moved to Pierre that year to work for Capital Area Counseling as an Addictions Counselor. He began teaching SPCM 101 for CUC in the summer of 1994. Pete's aim is not to try to turn speech students into junior Martin Luther King Jr.'s, but rather to help them become more comfortable making presentations and learn how to more effectively organize their thoughts, so their audience will understand their message.
