Richard Steece: Education: B.S. degree in Biology from South Dakota State University, M.S. degree in Microbiology from South Dakota State University, Ph.D. degree in Biology from the University of New Mexico. Accreditations: Diplomat, American Board of Medical Microbiology (ABMM), Specialist in Public Health and Medical Microbiology (AAM), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) certified Medical Laboratory, Director and Clinical Consultant.
While employed by the public health
laboratory in Minnesota he taught medical microbiology and veterinary
science students from the University of Minnesota. He also participated
in team teaching a course in public health microbiology to
post-doctorate students from the Mayo Clinic. While employed by the New
Mexico Scientific Laboratory Division he taught students in medical
technology and virology at the University of New Mexico. During the
past several years he has also given numerous workshops for the National
Laboratory Training Network (NLTN), the Regional Training Centers, and
the Centers for Disease Control. He is currently the Science Advisor
for the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL). He has worked
for the state public health laboratories in South Dakota, Minnesota and
New Mexico. He has extensive knowledge of the public health laboratory
and has published or co-published a number of papers in internationally
recognized and peer-reviewed journals. He has presented at many
national and international scientific meetings. Richard has taught
General Microbiology for CUC the last couple years. |
