Take It Back PAC Review
Take It Back PAC is an online donation system that promises to make it easy to donate to the campaigns of various American presidential candidates in 2016. Here’s everything you need to know about Take It Back PAC.
What is Take It Back PAC?
Take It Back PAC, found at TakeBackOurWorld.org, is an online donation platform that makes it easy to donate to the US presidential candidate of your choice for 2016.
The website appeared online in January 2016.
At the PAC’s About Us page, it describes itself as “leading a modern day civil rights movement to bring true political equality back to our Republic.”
The goal of the PAC is to help people band together to support a certain political cause. Since we each can’t afford our own individual lobbyist, Take It Back PAC promises to use “innovative technologies and organizational strategies” to inspire a new generation of activism:
“Take It Back PAC is a national grassroots movement to fight corruption by electing reformers on all levels of our democracy. We have teams of dedicated volunteers across the country, organizing on behalf of candidates that will fundamentally reform our campaign finance system.”
Essentially, the organization wants to change the way we donate to political movements. Today’s system of donations makes it easy for companies and corporations to finance individual politicians, leading to lobbyism and favoritism and other fundamental problems of democracy.
Instead of helping you donate towards specific presidential candidates, Take It Back PAC makes you donate to the PAC itself, where your money is purportedly put towards ending “crony capitalism”:
“Every time you give, it’s a vote against political corruption, against legalized bribery, against crony capitalism.”
How Does the Donation System Work?
Take It Back PAC has an online donation form that promises to simplify the donation process for your candidate.
You can choose to donate to a specific presidential candidate – like Sanders, Trump, Clinton, or Cruz. Or, you can choose to donate directly to the PAC, in which case your money goes towards ending political corruption (it’s unclear which candidate the PAC exactly supports).
To donate to the cause, you must be a United States citizen or a “permanent resident alien”. The funds you donate must also be your own funds (not provided by another person) and you also have to use your own personal credit card. You must be 18 years of age or older.
Contributions made to Take It Back PAC are not tax deductible, although the organization doesn’t explain why.
You can choose to donate amounts between $25 and $10,000. If you like, you can setup a monthly donation as well. Or, you can wire money or mail a check to the Take It Back PAC address, which we’ll get to below.
Where Does My Donation Go?
This is where the Take It Back PAC gets a little hazy.
Those pages feature the headline “Do not wait – Show Your Support” along with a large picture of the candidate. There’s also the headline “Take Back Our World” and “Pledge Your Support for Him/Her” – so you’re led into believing that you’re donating to that individual.
When you fill out your name, email, and phone number on that page, however, you’re taken directly to the Take It Back PAC donation form. So instead of donating to the candidate’s campaign, it appears that you’re donating to the PAC instead.
In other words, Take It Back PAC makes it seem like you’re donating your money to an individual candidate. In reality, your money is going to the Take It Back PAC instead, and it’s unclear where your donation goes after that.

Should You Donate to Take It Back PAC?
Take It Back PAC makes lofty promises about its goals and ambitions, but it’s unclear – at this point – what you’re exactly supporting when you donate to the cause.
The PAC claims to want to end crony capitalism and political corruption, for example, and encourages anyone who feels the same to donate.
But where does your donation go? Who specifically does it support? It would be helpful to see a little more transparency from Take It Back PAC before we make any conclusions about where this money is going.
