1. How long do I have to drop a class without having to pay tuition and fees for that class? You can drop classes through the class census date without having to pay the associated tuition or receive a grade of "W" (withdrawal). Any classes dropped after that date will result in a bill and a grade of "W".

 2. How long do I have to drop a class even though I know that I will be charged? Each class has their own date. Courses may not be dropped after that date except when extenuation circumstances can be documented. In those instances you can begin the petition process through the Registrar's Office (605-688-6397 SDSU).

 3. Do I get a refund for a class that I dropped? No refund will be made for courses dropped after its census date.

 4. What is a "withdrawal"? Withdrawing from all of your classes and from the University. This must be done through the Registrar's Office.

 5. What is a "drop"? A drop means dropping one class, not all of them.

 6. Withdrawal Refund Information: Students who withdraw, drop out or are expelled from the university within the add period (census date) receive a 100% refund of tuition. After that date, students may be entitled to a refund of tuition calculated through sixty percent of the enrollment period. The refund shall be determined by computing the percentage of an enrollment period remaining after the date of withdrawal times the tuition originally assessed the student.

 7. If I decide to drop a class or withdraw, do I get a refund on my books? No, all book sales are final UNLESS the class is canceled by CUC.

 8. How do I change my address, name or phone numbers on campus? To access a form to change your address go to: http://www3.sdstate.edu/Admissions/RecordsandRegistration/Forms/Index.cfm Print out the form and fax it or mail it to the Records and Registration office.
