The following responsibilities constitute a legal attachment to the Letter of Appointment in the Extension Program of South Dakota contracting universities. Acceptance of the Letter of Appointment constitutes acceptance of all items below.
1. I will prepare and present course content in keeping with the course title and description in the University General Catalog, the Extension Schedule, or special program or course outline approved in advance the department or school.
2. I will provide personally the specified number and length of class meeting contact hours or supervision (whichever is applicable) as required for my assigned course(s) as set forth in the Extension Schedule delivered through Capital University Center. In case of illness or other emergency, I will, in collaboration with Capital University Center, provide a qualified substitute. CUC is to be notified of this or any schedule changes.
3. I will insure that the level of instruction and work required of extension students
is of the same academic quality and degree of rigor as required for on campus
classes.
4. I will set aside time for the distribution, completion and collection of student
evaluation forms when requested during the session(s) in which I participate.
5. I will make myself available, within reason, to give students an opportunity to
receive counsel and advice on course-related matters outside of regular class
hours.
6. I will submit grade reports by the deadlines as required by the contracting
university and Capital University Center.
7. I will make no changes in classrooms or meeting times without the express
permission of Capital University Center.
8. I will make no financial obligation or expenditures in the name of, or on behalf of, Capital University Center for any purpose, without written approval of the Director of Capital University Center.
